I’m Back! Let’ s talk FOOD! Anabolic Fasting will quite possibly change your life!

Okay Fellow Lifting Fans!…I am back! Sorry, life got really busy there for a minute and blogging was the last thing on my mind! I started teaching Cycle classes at L.A Fitness back in September 2015! I have absolutely loved that. I recently started teaching at Mountainside Fitness as well and really enjoy that too. The people make my job totally worth it!
Im really finding that the combo of Cycling with Lifting is producing some really great results for my body! The cycling has allowed me to burn fat and lean down, while the lifting has added some pretty solid muscle.
As of right now, I am not taking any supplements other than a couple BCAA’s right after a good lift. Maybe even some omega 3’s before a workout. Once in a while I will take a pre-workout supplement if I really feel like I need to get going because Im just too tired. But I have felt great not taking supplements for a while now.
I get all my nutrients from real food and I stick by the “anabolic fasting” diet. Which looks like this:
Breakfast: Bone broth, water or whatever I’m drinking that morning. I really like bone broth for it’s gut healing properties and it gives me solid energy without the stimulant of caffeine.

Lunch: sometime around 11am. A plate of veggies, a protein and a fat. So it might look like a salad with half an avocado chopped up and some chicken on top. The veggie will take up the largest portion of your plate!

Snack: A veggie and a fat: handful of almonds with sliced cucumber for example

Dinner: Protein, veggie and a fat. Again…I am not limited here…eat as much as you want until full. Sometime I throw a roast in the crockpot, steam up some broccoli and eat some more nuts, avacado or coconut butter.

Snack: 1/2 hr before bed: A banana with peanut butter on top! This will help stop that sweet tooth but also give you the insulin spike your body needs to replenish insulin taken from lifting. This will also give you energy to wake up and get to the gym in the morning without eating breakfast!

So what we’ve done here is just combined Intermittent Fasting with a type of Paleo diet! The results will WOW you if you stick with it. I know what you’re thinking….”breakfast is the most important meal of the day”…..If you’re going by government standards then YES…it’s the most important meal of the day. But I want you to look at our society and see where those government standards have gotten us. We are more obese than ever and auto-immune diseases are out of control. I think your body will love the way it feels on a diet like this. Give it a try and let me know!
